More Beach Fun

Wow, did I take a lot of pictures in Wild Dunes!  I've been sorting through them all, and it's impossible to pick out only a few highlights - there are so many of them!  On Tuesday all that wind we had been getting turned to rain, so we headed to the movies (a few of us saw "Brave" and a few saw "Men in Black 3").  By the time we returned to the house, the skies were clearing and the kids headed down to the beach.  The sky was still dark, and I love this picture I got of the four of them.

As soon as this shot was over, Tanner turned around and proceeded to throw Sarah in the water, which then turned into her trying her best (yet failing) to catch him and turn the tables.  I don't think she ever did get her revenge.  Maybe next year...

Down she goes!
The next day dawned bright and beautiful, and we all enjoyed having a full day on the beach.  There was boogie boarding, sand dollar finding, horseshoe playing and general all around relaxing.

Our nights were very low key...playing games, enjoying dinner in (we have some good cooks in this family!), watching movies and making late night batches of cookies.

On Thursday we went into Charleston and enjoyed a carriage ride through the historic district (actually, I think most of Charleston is considered historic!).  We saw some beautiful homes and heard lots of neat stories about the city.

That afternoon we all went to the beach for some late afternoon relaxation.  We were all down there at one time so I grabbed someone near us and had them take a group picture.  I've seen lots of pictures on Facebook lately of families having these gorgeous family photos taken on the beach at sunset, with everyone in coordinating outfits.  I have to laugh at our group shot because there's nothing coordinated about it!  But it's real, and I love that.

Our last day on the beach was great.  John had an ear infection, so since he couldn't go in the water he took on the project of creating a few miniature golf holes for the group to try their hand at.

Didn't take the guys long to start playing
We hung out on the beach for most of the day, horsing around, playing in the water, and we even got in a kick ball game (my foot still hurts!).

That night we all went to Shem Creek to have dinner at The Wreck (last night of fresh seafood!).  We took some great pictures of the family before we left, and it was a perfect way to remember the week.  Spending time with family is a blessing that never gets old.
